Two Rescued From Water In Stevens Point

Three duck hunters assisted in rescuing two 23-year-olds who were clinging to their capsized boat on the Wisconsin River near Bukolt Park in Stevens Point on Tuesday morning. At 5:55 a.m. Portage County Communications center received a dispatch call of a capsized boat in the Wisconsin River near Bukolt Park.

Neighbors rescue sleeping resident from fire in Beaver Dam

VIDEO: The neighbors of a man who was asleep when his house started on fire on Tuesday was rescued by two neighbors who entered the home and alerted the resident that the house was on fire. Moderate damage caused by fire in Sheboygan County

A fire in Sheboygan County caused moderate damage to a two-story home on Monday evening. Around 7:30 p.m., the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from a homeowner on the W3000 block of County Road V in the town of Lima. The homeowner explained to dispatch of a chimney fire.

Fort McCoy Fire Department receives international accreditation

The Fort McCoy Directorate of Emergency Services Fire Department was reaccredited for a third time by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. Taking place every five years, the accreditation process looks at the department and its programs as a whole but it also requires documentation and sitting before the accreditation board.

Town of Genesee barn fire; 1 taken to hospital

Firefighters on Monday, Oct. 17 responded to the scene of a barn fire on Saylesville Road in the Town of Genesee. Upon arrival, deputies reported the barn was fully engulfed. Lake Country Fire requested mutual aid. On scene deputies encountered an individual who suffered burn injuries to his face.

Space heater blamed for causing house fire in Racine

The indoor use of a space heater is being blamed for causing a house fire Monday afternoon. One civilian and one fire department member sustained injuries. The Racine Police Department and Racine Fire Department were called to the 2000 block of Wisconsin Street at 12:56 p.m. Monday, the RPD said. The fire, smoke and extinguishing efforts caused extensive damage to the interior and exterior of the structure.

State helps Outagamie County Fire Departments dispose of PFAS

An effort is underway in Outagamie County to collect firefighting foam waste containing dangerous PFAS. The foam can seep into the ground, causing environmental problems. PFAS is linked to cancer and is known as a “forever chemical” because it doesn’t degrade in the environment. “When firefighters or airports have to train they use PFAS.

Several teens injured with serious burns after bonfire explosion in Pulaski

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office says an unknown number of people gathered for a bonfire at the residence on Cedar Drive in the Town of Maple Grove in Pulaski. Authorities say an accelerant was poured onto the fire, causing it to expand out of control, leaving several students in the Pulaski area needing medical treatment.

6 displaced after house fire on Milwaukee's northwest side

Six people are displaced after a fire on Milwaukee's northwest side. The Milwaukee Fire Department said a call came in shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday for the fire at 57th & Silver Spring. Officials said the fire was on the building's first and second floors. The fire department told 12 News the Red Cross was called and is helping the people find a place to stay.

Man killed in Vilas County UTV crash

The Vilas County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of a 57-year-old man killed over the weekend in a UTV accident. Investigators said Mark Balas, of Winchester, was operating a UTV through a wooded area around 1:30 a.m. Saturday night when he drove off of an embankment, struck a rock and flipped.

Milwaukee police, fire departments investigating arson, shots fired incident

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating an incident where shots were fired and an apartment unit was set on fire Saturday night. Police say calls began coming in around 8:53 p.m. reporting shots fired into a building near 40th and West Florist Avenue. Several shots were fired into four apartment units, but no people were hit, according to police.

2 displaced after workers start exterior wall on fire at Madison home, authorities say

Two people were displaced after workers started an exterior wall on fire at a Near West Side home on Thursday afternoon, the Madison Fire Department reported. There were no injuries, and investigators determined the fire at the home in the 4200 block of Doncaster Drive was accidental, fire department spokesperson Cynthia Schuster said in a statement.

Waupun House Fire Draws Heavy Response

About 50 fire fighters from area fire departments spent the better portion of the early morning hours battling a house fire in the City of Waupun. Superior: East End fire station could get historic recognition

When the first East End fire hall burned down in 1896, city leaders got to work developing a new fire hall on the corner diagonally across the street from the original wooden structure built in 1888. By May 1898, East End had its new fire hall, which was designed by architect James Chisholm. The two-story brick fire house featured brownstone trim, a round castellated corner tower and three bays with large Roman arch entrances for fire department’s five rigs.

Kronenwetter Fire Department names new chief

The Kronenwetter Fire Department named their new chief, and she's making history. Theresa O'Brien learned Tuesday night that she would be the village's new fire chief, and it's a decision she says she is over the moon about. O'Brien has been with the department for 17 years, originally joining after her husband, who also works at the department, encouraged her to do so.

Former New Lisbon EMS Director honored for 40 years

he New Lisbon First Responders honored their former EMS director Richard Weiland for his 40 years with the city Wednesday night. Weiland started out as a volunteer EMT in 1982, and later took on many roles in the community. He was a a member of the Camp Douglas Rescue Squad and Mauston Area Ambulance Association, telecommunicator for Juneau County and firefighter and safety officer for the New Lisbon Fire Department.

2 dead, 6 hurt in Milwaukee crash after bus rolls over, catches fire

At least six people were taken to the hospital and two people died following a crash and vehicle fire in Wisconsin Wednesday morning. All 142 Milwaukee fallen firefighters honored, dating back to 1800s

All 142 Milwaukee firefighters who have died serving the city since 1860 were honored Wednesday, Oct. 12 during the annual "Fallen Firefighter Memorial Program." Everyone knows that a firefighter's job is dangerous. It's their duty to run toward the flames, but Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski said it's what happens after they leave that can be the most deadly.

Illegal burning destroys two homes in Wood County

VIDEO: Two houses were destroyed as the result of a fire caused by "illegal burning" of tires and debris that spread during windy conditions in the early morning hours Wednesday, according to a press release from Vesper Fire Department. At 12:49 a.m. Rudolph and Vesper fire departments were paged for a house fire.
