Follow Up: Damage from Oregon duplex explosion estimated to be between $1.5 and $2 M

Officials in Oregon are providing new details into their response to a home explosion last Friday, and how much damage is left behind. Fire Chief Glenn Linzmeier said, in a release, 16 fire departments and four EMS agencies came to assist in a duplex explosion that damaged three homes but hurt no one.

Gibraltar first responders describe daring night-time cliff rescue

VIDEO: A daring rescue off a cliff at Peninsula State Park in Door County this weekend saved a woman’s life. She was in stable condition Monday after the difficult task of getting her safely off the cliff. Multiple agencies responded to make this rescue mission a success. Video shared by the Gibraltar Fire Department is just a glimpse of the treacherous rescue at the park in Door County after a 32-year-old woman fell from a parking lot on top of Eagle Bluff, landing on a ledge about 50 feet below.

Milwaukee Fire Chief says reckless driving having an impact on firefighters

Update: Hartland fire incident found to be shooting, murder-suicide

The six people found dead after an apartment fire in the village of Hartland Friday likely died in a murder-suicide incident. Hartland Police Chief Torin Misko said during a press conference Monday evening that all victims had one gunshot wound. He said Connor McKisick, who was a father and stepfather to the four kids, had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Family killed in intentional apartment fire in Hartland identified, criminal investigation continues

The Village of Hartland is mourning six people who died Friday morning after an apartment building was intentionally set on fire. The Hartland police chief said it's now a criminal investigation. VIDEO: Crews from 10 different departments extinguish fire in downtown Brodhead

Three businesses were left damaged Sunday after a fire in downtown Brodhead. Crews were sent to the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue at around 3:25 p.m. after multiple callers reported a fire. Police said that there were people living above one of the businesses, but they were able to get out safely.

Fire at Mr. G's Supper Club in Sturgeon Bay causes 5-hour closure on Wisconsin Highway 57

A Sunday fire at Mr. G's Supper Club in Sturgeon Bay caused Wisconsin Highway 57, from between Loritz and Jorns roads, to be closed for about five hours, according to the Door County Sheriff's Office. Tenants displaced after apartment fire above bar and grill in Chippewa Falls

According to a press release from Chippewa Falls Fire Chief Lee Douglas, the fire occurred in the upstairs apartments in the rear Every Buddy's Bar and Grill. Officials said just after 1 p.m., flames and heavy smoke were reported coming from the apartments. The fire was contained in under an hour, but displaced four tenants, who are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Peninsula State Park Rescue: Woman fell down cliff near Eagle Tower

Quick response from Green Bay Metro Fire Department saves kitchen from fire in Allouez

Around $15,000 worth of damage was caused after a fire started in an Allouez resident’s kitchen. According to a release from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, crews were sent to the 2000 block of Woodrow Way for a report of a kitchen fire. Madison Fire Department to no longer require U.S. citizenship for firefighter and EMTs

After a three year hiring freeze, the Madison Fire Department is accepting applications for full-time firefighters and EMTs, no longer requiring applicants to have U.S. Citizenship. According to a news release by the City of Madison Fire Department, "in spirit of inclusion and accessibility," this year's process will incorporate new approaches throughout the hiring process to minimize barriers that previously limited people from applying, like time constraints, and also adapting to a "changing economic and technological landscape since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fire training expansion in Adams

Training is expanding for firefighters in Central Wisconsin. Mid-State Technical College partnered with the Adams Fire District to establish a new fire training center in Adams. The ten year long agreement will also fund the installation of new equipment, including a splash pad for ladder training, and burn towers.

Wisconsin Rapids First Responders Tout LUCAS as Life-Saver

A new device is being used by local first responders to help save lives, and it's name is LUCAS. The LUCAS device is a machine that delivers chest compressions so that paramedics can perform other life-saving tasks. Smaller departments rely on LUCAS since they are struggling with staff shortages, and it allows one paramedic to do the job of two.
