Plum Lake Volunteer Fire Department

The Plum Lake Fire Department exists to prevent fires, to safeguard the lives and property of all people in this township and to inspect and eliminate fire hazards. This department makes every effort to comply with state laws governing operations and functions of a volunteer fire department.

This is an all volunteer department.

Plum Lake Township consists of roughly 38 square miles of land and water.  The towns of Sayner, Wisconsin and Star Lake, Wisconsin are part of Plum Lake Township.

Our main station is in Sayner and we also have a station in Star Lake.

Some of our members participate in West Central Rapid Intervention Team.  The RIT is a team of specially trained members to assist in the protection and safety of firefighting personnel.  This is a joint team with members from St. Germain, Plum Lake, Boulder, Minocqua and Arbor Vitae.

Our volunteers continue to train to use equipment and learn new techniques for fighting fires.
