Kaukauna’s fire chief plans to retire next month. Chief Paul Hirte says he’s had a successful career with the department for over 35 years. He says it’s time to move on to the next stage of his life. One person is dead after a snowmobile crash in the Oneida County Town of Schoepke. Sheriff's officials say it happened on Old 26 Road at 1:10 Sunday afternoon. The snowmobile rider left the trail and struck some trees. The unidentified operator of the sled died at the scene.
