Follow Up: Family remembers man killed in Argyle fire as being caring, fiercely independent

VIDEO: The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office is trying to determine what caused a fatal fire Wednesday in Fayette Township, near Argyle. The family is mourning the loss of the man, as Melvin Leroy Narveson, known to them as "Leroy." Narveson would have turned 90 in February. "He was very independent.

Cedarburg day care center evacuated because of carbon monoxide

VIDEO: A Cedarburg day care evacuated more than 70 children Thursday after carbon monoxide flooded the KinderCare building. All 71 of the children are OK. The staff had to evacuate all of the kids -- ranging in age from 6 weeks to 4 years old -- to an emergency evacuation site at a Walgreens across the street.

Officials don't see a future role for existing Milton fire station

Milton fire officials don’t recommend keeping the city’s outdated fire station at 614 W. Madison St. much longer, according to a recently released report. Former Fire Chief Randy Banker, who oversaw the Janesville and Milton fire departments, and other officials believe modernizing the Milton station is not ideal because of cost and location, according to the report.

McMillan Fire Department Receives Funds from Security Health Plan's Employee-Driven Corporate Giving Grant

‘Preparation is key:’ Greenfield Fire Department ready to respond to weather-related, other emergencies

The FOX6 Weather Experts said up to 10 inches of snow was possible through Wednesday afternoon. A winter storm warning was issued for all of southeast Wisconsin. A 49-year-old woman was rescued Monday morning after her vehicle left Cascade Mountain Road, broke through a sheet of ice and became submerged in the Baraboo River. Portage Fire Department Chief Clayton Simonson said he and three firefighters responded to the scene at 7:30 a.m. and attached a chain to the vehicle for Blystone’s Towing to pull the vehicle out of the river.

2 pigs, 4 cows likely dead following barn fire near Edgar

Marathon Fire Chief Mike Tylinski said two pigs and four cows likely died Monday following a barn fire. The animals are currently missing. "Some animals were able to get out so we were able to save some but others perished," Tylinski said. The fire was reported at 12:22 p.m. Monday at a property near Soda Creek Road and Firecrown Lane in the Town of Cassel.
