City Council OKs fire protection agreement with village of Superior

The Superior City Council approved an agreement Tuesday, Nov. 15, with the village of Superior to continue providing emergency response services in the village with the city’s fire department. What’s changed is the city is no longer charging for those services using a formula established long ago. Now, the city will charge the village $1,200 for each response.

SUV collides with fuel tanker in Pine Lake

An SUV reportedly lost control and crashed into a fuel tanker due to slippery road conditions in northern Wisconsin on Wednesday. Firefighters rescue lost hunter near Rhinelander

Firefighters rescued a lost hunter in the woods near Rhinelander on Wednesday night. According to a Pine Lake Fire Rescue Facebook post, the hunter was tracking a deer he shot when he lost the track in the woods and became disoriented. Firefighters were dispatched at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for a reported hunter who was having difficulty breathing and was lost in the woods.

Firearm explodes at shooting range in Eagle, one sent to hospital

Three people were injured, and one was transported to a local hospital after a firearm exploded at a shooting range in southeastern Wisconsin. According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, at 11:12 a.m. on Wednesday morning, deputies alongside the Kettle Moraine Fire District were sent to McMiller Sports Complex in the town of Eagle for a report of three people injured due to a firearm exploding.

Plane carrying 50+ adoptable dogs lands on Waukesha County golf course

A plane carrying dozens of dogs made an emergency landing at Western Lakes Golf Course in Pewaukee on Tuesday. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said in a statement deputies responded around 9 a.m. to the golf course. The plane received "significant" damage and stopped at the third hole of the course.

Extensive damage to home in Shawano County after fire

An early morning fire in Shawano County caused extensive damage to a residence on Tuesday. According to Shawano Area Fire Department Assistant Chief Chuck Felts, at around 5:55 a.m., a call came in for a structure fire on the 8000 block of Broadway Road in the town of Richmond. It was reported that all occupants inside the home had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews.

Follow Up: 2 horses, 3 dogs die in Nashotah stable fire

Two horses and three dogs died in a stable fire on Tuesday morning. Lake Country Fire & Rescue responded to 345 Nashotah Road at 3:14 a.m. for a report of stable fire, according to the fire department. Caledonia garage destroyed by fire

A Caledonia homeowner lost his garage in a structure fire Tuesday. No injuries were reported, and the fire was contained to the garage. Deadly Lake Country stable fire under investigation

Lake Country Fire & Rescue responded to 345 Nashotah Road, Nashotah around 3:14am on Tuesday, Nov. 15 for a report of stable fire. The fire was confined to a stable with it being a total loss. No other property was affected. No injuries to property owners or firefighters. Two horses and three dogs were inside of the stable at the time and died in the fire.

Fire damages Sparta restaurant

A Sparta restaurant is closed after a fire in the kitchen spreads to other parts of the building Monday afternoon. The Sparta Area Fire District was called to the Sparta Family Restaurant at 741 Avon Road just before 1 p.m. according to Fire Chief Mike Arnold. When they arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the roof of the building.

'All First Responders' named Grand Marshal of 2022 Waukesha Christmas Parade

Ascension is naming "All First Responders" as the Grand Marshal of this year's Waukesha Christmas Parade. This year's parade will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. Waukesha officials say a banner for the first responders will go directly in front of Fire Chief Steve Howard, Police Chief Dan Thompson, and Mayor Shawn Reilly.

No Injuries After Fire At Oak Creek Apartments

A fire broke out at an apartment building in Oak Creek Saturday evening but nobody was injured, according to an Oak Creek Fire Department news release. It happened in the 200 block of West Puetz Road around 10 p.m., the news release said. Firefighters who were first to get there saw fire and smoke from one of the apartment units.

Beloit's oldest retired firefighter, 91, looks back at service

Homeowner puts out fire after report of explosion and fire in Fond Du Lac

A Fond du Lac homeowner put out an exterior fire after a report of an explosion and fire at the residence Sunday morning. Fond Du Lac Fire Rescue responded to the reported incident on Chestnut St. just after 11:30 a.m. The police department assisted with scene management and traffic control. Sheboygan fire leaves 2 dogs dead, $25k in damages

Fire crews in Sheboygan responded to a house fire on Saturday afternoon that left two dogs dead, two residents displaced, and roughly $25,000 in damages. Merrill Fire Department makes history, introducing the first women to join the department

Fire and EMS departments throughout the area are struggling to fill positions, but this week the Merrill Fire Department expanded its ranks - making history along the way. To Kendall Nelson and the crew at the Merrill FD, she's the 189th member of the team. But along with it comes a major milestone - being the first full time employed women in the departments 125 year history.

Green County bridge fire being investigated as arson

Authorities in Green County are investigating after a bridge in rural Monroe was allegedly set on fire early Thursday morning. Lt. Fire leaves two families without a home in Grant County

VIDEO/PHOTOS: At least two families are without a home following a fire in Grant County. Witnesses told 27 News it happened at the Wisconsin Wood Inn in Dickeyville around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. A couple who lived in one of the apartments attached to the motel said, despite their heat being off, they could feel it through the vents and realized something wasn't right.

House fire in Kiel causes extensive damage, one transported to hospital

One person was sent to the hospital after a house fire in the city of Kiel on Tuesday afternoon. According to a release from the Kiel Fire Department, crews were sent to the 300 block of Linden Street for a report of a house on fire with three occupants and pets possibly still inside around 2:00 p.m.
