Firefighters on Monday, Oct. 17 responded to the scene of a barn fire on Saylesville Road in the Town of Genesee.
Upon arrival, deputies reported the barn was fully engulfed. Lake Country Fire requested mutual aid.

The indoor use of a space heater is being blamed for causing a house fire Monday afternoon. One civilian and one fire department member sustained injuries.

An effort is underway in Outagamie County to collect firefighting foam waste containing dangerous PFAS. The foam can seep into the ground, causing environmental problems. PFAS is linked to cancer and is known as a “forever chemical” because it doesn’t degrade in the environment.

The Vilas County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of a 57-year-old man killed over the weekend in a UTV accident.

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating an incident where shots were fired and an apartment unit was set on fire Saturday night.
Police say calls began coming in around 8:53 p.m. reporting shots fired into a building near 40th and West Florist Avenue.

Two people were displaced after workers started an exterior wall on fire at a Near West Side home on Thursday afternoon, the Madison Fire Department reported.

The City of Chippewa Falls Fire and EMS will begin offering a signing bonus to new employees immediately in an effort to improve recruitment numbers.
