Firefighters participate in water rescue training in the Baraboo River

Baraboo hosted nearly a dozen fire departments over the weekend for swift water rescue training in the Baraboo River. The training drills firefighters for methods of getting people out of fast-flowing water quickly in different scenarios. “We’ve made sure with all of these training sessions. We make sure that everybody gets a lot of opportunities to do different things and make sure that we’re all going to be able to work together if, in any event, we need to,” said Black Earth firefighter Peter Kaminski.

No injuries in Brice Prairie house fire

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Fire officials report there were no injuries, but the house is a total loss after a late night fire in Brice Prairie. Firefighters on scene told News 19 that they arrived to find the home off of County Road Z fully engulfed in flames. Crews from Holmen, Galesville, and Campbell Fire Departments were called to provide assistance.

VIDEO: Historic Lake Church Inn in Belgium a total loss following fire

Firefighters responded to the scene of a fire at Lake Church Inn, a historic building located in Belgium, Tuesday night. Now, officials say the building is a total loss. The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office says fire crews worked to extinguish the fire from 5:30 p.m. until midnight. Part of the building had to be demolished as crews battled the flames, and now the structure is a total loss.

Mobile home destroyed in fire near Portage

PHOTOS: A fire destroyed a mobile home at the Pride of America Campground early Tuesday morning. According to a post from the Portage Fire Department, emergency crews were dispatched to W7520 West Bush Road in the town of Pacific at about 2:30 a.m. That's about three miles southeast of Portage. Firefighters came upon a one-story wood-frame mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Columbia County recycling center deemed total loss following fire

VIDEO: Nearly eight fire agencies spent hours battling a fire at a Columbia County recycling center Sunday evening. Fire departments from Sauk and Columbia County worked to put out a fire at the Columbia County Recycling and Waste Processing Facility. Portage Fire Chief Troy Haase said that 30-40 firefighters were at the scene.

10-Year Anniversary Of The Historic Germann Road Wildfire in Douglas County

The critical fire conditions in the Northland Sunday come on the 10-year anniversary of the Germann Road Wildfire in Douglas County. The fire, which is one of the largest in Wisconsin state history, consumed more than 7,400 acres and destroyed 104 structures in the towns of Gordon, Highland and Barnes.

Milwaukee Fire Department completes massive fire training

VIDEO: The Milwaukee Fire Department took advantage of a unique training experience for firefighters Saturday morning. More than two dozen firefighters worked to attack a fire at a vacant building near 12th and Cherry near downtown. Plymouth man sentenced to ten years in federal prison for arson of apartment building

United States Attorney Gregory J. Haanstad of the Eastern District of Wisconsin announced that on May 10, 2023, 32-year-old Jonathan T. Lane, of Plymouth, Wisconsin, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for arson to a building. According to court filings, Lane admitted that on November 9, 2017, he started a fire in a small, two-story apartment building in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Kenosha Fire Department steps up minority recruiting

Resident safe after Oconto County mobile home fire

One person is safe after a mobile home caught fire early this morning in Oconto County. Fire swept through the home on Whipporwhill Lane at about 5:30. The property is about a mile off Highway 41, in the town of Pensaukee. The person who lived here got out. The flames were out but the building was still smoking when our Action 2 News crew arrived on the scene at about 6:30 a.

Fallen Mineral Point firefighter’s son plans to follow his father’s career path

Madison's fire chief says 4 people hurt in west side explosion

Marshfield Fire Department on a mission to stop young fire-starters

When Shannon Anthoine is in public in her impressive uniform, she gets a lot of comments, questions and stares. "What do I call you?" asked one girl. A firefighter is fine, Anthoine said. Evansville fire results in $100,000 in property damage

The Evansville Fire Department responded to a garage fire Saturday that resulted in $100,000 in damages. Fire officials said a garage attached to a house caught fire around 3 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters controlled the fire within minutes, but thorough damage to the property still occurred. Crews rescued one pet, then extinguished the fire that had spread to the rest of the house.

'They’re superheroes': Hoan Bridge at Milwaukee's lakefront glows red to honor fallen Wisconsin firefighters

A special tribute Sunday at Milwaukee's lakefront. The bridge was illuminated in red as a way to remember three Wisconsin firefighters that were killed in the line of duty in 2022. La Crosse Water Rescue Team getting some swift river practice

Grafton and Saukville fire departments commit to shared service exploration

An open house is being planned to gather community input on merging the Grafton and Saukville fire departments. While discussions at one time focused on a possible four-way merger among Grafton, Saukville, Cedarburg and Port Washington, the plan has since narrowed to the two central villages. Cedarburg officials have said it is their goal to remain their own department.

Green Bay Metro Fire Department announces non-profit organization

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department announced Wednesday afternoon the formation of the Green Bay Metro Fire Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that helps to improve public safety and partnerships within the community. President and CEO of H. J. Martin and Sons Incorp. Ed Martin presented a check for $10,000 as an initial foundation deposit.
