Waushara County officials say a home went up in flames before 9 o'clock Tuesday night. A Watertown man was transported to the hospital after escaping a fire in his 410 S. Sixth St. apartment early Sunday morning. Watertown firefighters responded to the scene around 3 a.m. to rescue the man and extinguish the fire, but he was able to get out of the building by the time they arrived.
