VIDEO: Fire crews said a barn and farm equipment were destroyed in an overnight fire in Calumet County. The call came in around 9:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Manitowoc Road and Highway 55 in the Village of Harrison. When crews arrived on scene they found flames shooting from the barn. Eau Claire city officials won’t know how many engine bays they can include in a new fire station until after they receive bids next week, but a Fire Department official says more bays are needed. VIDEO: La Crosse's Fire Department is sending help to Florida. Six members of the fire department were deployed to areas impacted by Hurricane Irma Sunday. They are a part of the Wisconsin Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue Team. Kyle Andrich was arrested Friday in connection with a fire at an abandoned house at 2110 Post Road in Plover. A woman was rescued from the Chippewa Falls NSP dam after jumping off the Highway 124 bridge, Chippewa Falls police chief Matt Kelm said Thursday. Police responded to emergency calls at 7:27 a.m. that a woman had jumped into the river near the dam area. Fire investigators are looking into a fire Thursday that damaged an assisted-living facility. The emergency call went out at 3:30 p.m. at Racine Commons, 8500 Corporate Drive, just north of Highway 20, and escalated to a second alarm for equipment and personnel. A University of Wisconsin-Madison residence hall was evacuated Wednesday morning after an incinerated Pop-Tart set off fire alarms, according to a release. Firefighters were called just before 9 a.m. to Phillips Hall on Willow Drive when alarms started to sound, officials said. The search is on in the Town of Easton for a possible arsonist and fireworks thief. A fire destroyed an uninsured home on East Tower Road on Aug. 26 when the homeowner was gone, Marathon County Deputy Sheriff Dale Ruechel said. Firefighters from multiple agencies were paged to N4040 Welsh Road in the town of Clyman shortly before noon Friday for a shed fire. According to Clyman Fire Chief Eric Howlett, initial reports were called in that a shed was fully engulfed in flames. The city Plan Commission approved on Tuesday plans for a new fire station at Malden Avenue and Birch Street on Eau Claire’s north side. The commission approved the site plan showing the station on the 5.76-acre plat’s northern side, one of three options proposed by Five Bugles Design. Investigators believe an arsonist may have set the fire that destroyed a vacant building early Tuesday.
