Milwaukee firefighters rescue man from house fire near 70th & Dickenson

VIDEO: Milwaukee firefighters rescued a man from a house that caught fire on Monday morning, March 12 in the neighborhood near 70th and Dickenson. Officials tell FOX6 News when the Milwaukee Fire Department arrived on the scene around 9:30 a.m., they found heavy fire on the first floor. They pulled the man from the building -- and took him to Columbia St.

MFD: 15 people displaced by fire on Milwaukee’s south side; arson not ruled out

VIDEO: Fifteen people were displaced by a fire that broke out at a home near 17th and Greenfield on Milwaukee's south side late Saturday night, March 10 -- and officials haven't ruled out arson in this case. Video submitted to FOX6 News by Pete's Fruit Market officials shows the fire at its worst. The video shows an orange glow lighting up the sky as fire swallowed the home.

At least 8 animals dead after Emmet barn fire, barn a total loss

VIDEO: Eight animals were killed in a barn fire in the Town of Emmet Sunday evening. According to the Fire Chief with Marathon City Fire Department, the barn is a total loss. It was fully engulfed when crews arrived. The Fire Chief said he believes all eight animals were goats. He said he believes the cause is electrical, because there were heating lamps in the barn, but the cause of fire is still under investigation.

1 cat dead, another rescued in Hartland house fire

No people were injured, but one cat died Sunday in a house fire on Maple Avenue in Hartland, Fire Chief Dave Dean said. Firefighters called to the home saw smoke coming from the second floor of the house. Dean said firefighters were able to contain the fire to two upper bedrooms. One cat was found dead.

Oshkosh firefighters and police officers compete in charity hockey game

VIDEO: Twenty-nine firefighters and police officers squared off for the 11th annual "Guns 'N' Hoses" charity hockey game. Thirteen firefighters from five departments squared off against 16 police officers from seven departments. One hundred percent of the proceeds are being donated to "Project HOME." The charity helps create better living environments for those less fortunate in Oshkosh.

Campbell Fire Department pushes for new pumper truck

10 people rescued from faulty elevator in downtown Madison apartment building

Ten people stuck in a malfunctioning elevator for about an hour had to use a ladder to get out of the top of the elevator in a Downtown Madison apartment building. Madison firefighters were called to the James apartments, 432 W. Gorham St., at about 11 p.m. Thursday. The James is one of the newest apartment buildings Downtown geared toward college students, first opened in 2017.

Milwaukee: “Fire Chief Ale” fundraiser to battle firefighter cancer held at Rock Bottom Brewery

A special event was held at Rock Bottom Brewery benefiting local firefighters Thursday evening, March 8. The event was a fundraiser for Local 215’s Firefighter Cancer Prevention Initiative. The initiative educates the public of the cancer risk for our firefighters and equipping firehouses with washers and dyers.

Woman, 20, rescued from icy waters in River Falls

VIDEO: A woman was rescued from icy waters Thursday after falling into Lake George in River Falls. The woman, a 20-year-old UW-River Falls student, was attempting to save her dog at the time. River Falls Police Chief Gordie Young said the woman had initially called to report the dog was stranded on the ice before she went out to retrieve it and found herself in a similar predicament.

Vehicles destroyed after fire in parking lot of Fitchburg apartment complex

VIDEO: A fire in Fitchburg overnight Wednesday completely destroyed three vehicles. It happened in the parking lot of the New Fountains Apartments. Benjamin Blunt was visiting his mother-in-law Wednesday night at the apartments complex. He said he checked on his van just before midnight and everything was OK.

Gibraltar Schools, Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Department boast strong relationship

The relationship between Gibraltar School District and the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Department is something both sides equally benefit. For the school district, all staff members were able to participate in CPR training with help from instructors at the fire department, while the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Department has been able to have positive encounters with students, recruiting a couple volunteers in the process.

Fire destroys Pleasant Prairie mobile home

Early morning fire destroys mobile home in Kenosha

VIDEO: Firefighters on Thursday morning, March 8 responded to the scene of a mobile home fire near 75th Street and 43rd Avenue in Kensoha. The call came in around 3:30 a.m. Just the shell of the mobile home is left standing — flames also singed the siding on a nearby home. The fire appears to be under control at this time.

Fitchburg fire station design approved

The city’s second new fire station project took a step forward last month with approval of its design and architecture. The Plan Commission unanimously approved the station that will be built at the corner of Syene and West Clayton roads for an estimated $7 million. The first new station opened last year on Marketplace Drive.

To neutralize explosives in Beaver Dam apartment, authorities detonate their own

Merrill fire chief resigns, city was evaluating chief weeks prior

Manitowoc firefighters to climb Milwaukee's U.S. Bank Center for Fight For Air Climb

After climbing 1,034 steps and reaching the top of a 47-floor building in Milwaukee for the annual Fight For Air Climb, Lt. Jacob Johnsrud from the Manitowoc Fire Department said he and everyone else was completely out of breath. "We don't feel anxious about it because we know it's going to get better," he said.

Fire damages home on Holmes Avenue in Cudahy

PHOTO: Firefighters on Tuesday night, March 6 responded to the scene of a house fire in Cudahy. The call came in around 11 p.m. The fire broke out at a home near Holmes Avenue and Delaware Avenue. Cudahy, St. Francis,South Milwaukee and Oak Creek Fire personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
