Racine firefighters rescued a man from the Root River Monday evening. At about 7:50 p.m., a call came in for a possible drowning at the north side of the river just south of Green Glass, 1120 N. Life-saving efforts by a Hager City mother and emergency responders were too late to save a boy who drowned last week in a Pierce County swimming pool.
