Update: Victim in fatal Tomah fire identified

A 61-year-old man is identified as the person killed in a fire at a Tomah motel earlier this month. On Friday morning, Fire Chief Tim Adler released the identity of the person who died in the September 19 fire at the Daybreak Motel at 215 E. Clifton Street. Brian Mark Mallory was pronounced dead at the scene.

Northeast Wisconsin veterans face historic flooding to visit 9/11 memorial in New York

VIDEO: 59 Northeast Wisconsin veterans braved torrential rain Friday to visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum In New York City. Meteorologists there say about a month’s worth of rain fell in just over three hours. Even though officials urged people to stay indoors Friday, this visit was so important that the veterans continued outside despite the weather.

Fundraiser being held to support Brookfield firefighter seriously injured in crash

VIDEO: Flashing lights and sirens are constant in Adam Yaresh’s life. However, Saturday night, the lights and sounds he experienced were there to save him, though he’s used to it being the other way around. Yaresh has been with the Brookfield Fire Department for the last six years. Before that, he worked on a volunteer basis with the Ixonia Fire Department and then in a full-time capacity with the Watertown Fire Department.

The history of the 'Great Fire of 1871' to be commemorated at the Belgian Heritage Center in Brussels

Driver hauling CO2 squelches fire right behind his truck, Madison Fire Department reports

Battery charger blamed for elevated carbon monoxide in Madison home

A lithium-ion battery was blamed for setting off a carbon monoxide detector at a Madison home on Tuesday night. Firefighters responded to the house in the 100 block of Shiloh Drive, on the city’s west side, shortly after 9 p.m. when the alarm went off for what the homeowners said was the second night in a row.

'Healing Ink' helps Waukesha first responders process trauma pain

Land O' Lakes EMS Adds Helipads

VIDEO: The Land O’ Lakes area is upgrading their emergency response times by building a series of new helipads. Heavy rains help put an end to 30-acre Dexter Fire

'He was definitely shocked': Semi-truck driver escapes flames in Verona

VIDEO: A semi-truck driver whose cab burst into flames at a Verona gas station was able to escape the fire even though his driver-side door would not open. Verona Fire Chief Dan Machotka said the Iowa resident's semi-truck had an apparent mechanical issue Friday, so the man drove the truck into a Kwik Trip's lot at 2145 County Road PB.

Crews put out house fire near Cadott, several pets lost

VIDEO: Crews were able to put out a house fire near Cadott Monday, but several family pets were lost. Cadott Fire Chief Rick Sommerfield told News 18 a passerby called in the fire just before noon. The house is located on 270th Street, north of 120th Avenue in the township of Goetz. Sommerfield said no one was home at the time, but several dogs and a cat were lost in the fire.

Occupants safe after Superior structure fire

According to authorities, the Superior Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a structure fire at 1917 E. 6th Street in Superior just after 2:00 a.m. Sunday. When fire crews arrived on scene, they found a passenger vehicle fire had spread to the exterior siding and into the attic of a two-story residential structure.

Norway introduces new fire chief and declares new Norway Fire Department 'ready to go'

No extra cost to Chilton taxpayers to build new police and fire stations, says Mayor

PHOTO: Wednesday was a big day for Chilton, as the city held a ceremony to cut the ribbon on a new fire station and break ground on a new police station.
