An 82-year-old woman died in a late night fire on Thanksgiving that also sent her 91-year-old husband to the hospital, according to the Dodge Co. Sheriff's Office. Her family told NBC15 her name was Eleanor "Ellie" Neumann. Every fire station in Appleton has a wreath outside of it, but it’s not just a decoration for the holidays.
Battalion Chief Derek Henson says they’re kicking off their annual campaign to prevent fires through the end of the year.

Students from St. Mark Lutheran School in Eau Claire took time to put care packages together for the Eau Claire Fire Department.
This was part of an annual Thanksgiving service project, but packing for firefighters was a first for the school.
All 90 students at St. Mark put the packages together.

A candle is believed to have sparked a house fire in the Town of Neenah Monday night.
At 8 p.m., the Town of Neenah Fire Department was called to the 900 block of Terra Cotta Drive. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming from "multiple sides" of the second story of the home.

A fire destroyed a building Sunday night in rural Jackson County.
Described as a wood-frame outbuilding, the structure at N4334 Cloverdale Road in the town of Irving was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to the Black River Falls Fire Department. Madison firefighters rescued a dog from icy water Saturday after it ran out onto an icy pond at Warner Park Dog Park, according to a news release.

The fire happened just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 23 in the 300 block of Walrath Street.
As of Sunday, Fire Chief Mike Arnold says a mother and a daughter rescued from the fire suffered some burns and smoke inhalation.

An off-duty Milwaukee firefighter who was shot by a would-be car thief is sharing his story for the first time.
Steven Budnowski, 35, was shot in the leg Nov. 11. "I hear one gunshot, and that's when I felt the pain and I fell to the ground," he said.

A 2012 four-door maroon Dodge Ram 1500 belonging to an Oregon firefighter was stolen around 9 p.m. Wednesday, but then later located outside Oregon.
