Firefighters from multiple agencies were paged to N4040 Welsh Road in the town of Clyman shortly before noon Friday for a shed fire. According to Clyman Fire Chief Eric Howlett, initial reports were called in that a shed was fully engulfed in flames. The city Plan Commission approved on Tuesday plans for a new fire station at Malden Avenue and Birch Street on Eau Claire’s north side. The commission approved the site plan showing the station on the 5.76-acre plat’s northern side, one of three options proposed by Five Bugles Design. Investigators believe an arsonist may have set the fire that destroyed a vacant building early Tuesday. A consultant hired to analyze the Baraboo Fire Department recommends adding daytime staff and looking for a new facility. Full-time staff would help the department respond to daytime calls, when most paid-on-call firefighters aren’t available, RW Management Group of Waukesha observed. The Marshfield Area Pet Shelter has partnered with Marshfield Police Department and Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department to create a calendar to raise money and awareness. Racine police were working Tuesday night to sort out what led to a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 17th Street and Taylor Avenue that possibly sent up to four people to the hospital.
