Police: Driver, passenger struck by gunfire in Milwaukee, fire station hit by bullets

Milwaukee police are investigation a shooting that happened Monday night, July 9 near 14th and Locust. According to polices, around 9:40 p.m. two shooting victims arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment for non-life threatening gunshot injuries. The investigation revealed that both victims, a 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, were traveling together in a vehicle when a suspect in another vehicle fired multiple gunshots at the victims.

Dog dies in Bellevue trailer home fire

A trailer home and its detached garage are a total loss after a fire late Monday night. The fire happened just after 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Bellevue Street, according to Bellevue Fire and Rescue. Fire crews arrived at the trailer home to find fire and smoke showing from the outside of the residence.

Man rescued from Root Rive in Racine

Racine firefighters rescued a man from the Root River Monday evening. At about 7:50 p.m., a call came in for a possible drowning at the north side of the river just south of Green Glass, 1120 N. Main St. Numerous vehicles and personnel from both the Fire and Police Departments responded. Within about five minutes, firefighters had dropped a ladder in the river and the man climbed out without injury or need for medical attention, police said.

Eau Claire Fire Department set to open new station Thursday

The Eau Claire Fire Department is preparing for the opening of the new Fire Station 10, a new state-of-the-art facility set to open on Thursday. Small fire breaks out at Hsu's Ginseng in the Town of Texas

No one was injured after a fire broke out in a small warehouse at Hsu's Ginseng Monday morning. Crews fight back-to-back clothes fires in pedestrian tunnel, Madison officials say

A Madison fire crew responded twice within an hour this weekend to reports of a fire in a pedestrian tunnel on Madison's north side, according to a news release. The Madison Fire Department said firefighters responded to the tunnel near Troy Drive and School Road shortly before and then shortly after midnight, finding a pile of clothes on fire in both instances.

Boy, 3, drowns in Hager City swimming pool

Life-saving efforts by a Hager City mother and emergency responders were too late to save a boy who drowned last week in a Pierce County swimming pool. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said 3-year-old Ryker B. Tipton died Friday, July 6, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after he was pulled from a pool the previous night by his mother, Ashlee Peterson.

Ultra high-pressure firefighting returns to Racine County

Two fire departments in western Racine County are the first in the county to embrace a re-emerging firefighting technology — ultra high-pressure — into their operations. On March 12, the Rochester Fire Company took possession of an ultra-high-pressure pump and retrofitted its 2010 grass fire unit to carry it.

Area fire departments respond to house fire outside of Juneau

No one was injured in a house fire on Highway W near Juneau on Sunday afternoon that was battled by multiple area fire departments. Juneau Fire Chief Curt Ninmann said his department was called at 5 p.m. for a report of a house fire at W6477 Highway W, in the town of Oak Grove. "Reports from Dodge County Dispatch were confirmed that there were flames showing and heavy smoke from the house," Ninmann said.

2 killed in motorcycle-car crash in southern Brown County

Two people were killed Sunday afternoon when a motorcycle passed a stop sign and slammed, broadside, into a car in southern Brown County. Brown County sheriff's officials said the westbound motorcycle, operated by a 38-year-old Green Bay-area man, passed a stop sign at Dickinson and Park roads. It struck a southbound car driven by a 60-year-old man from Mount Pleasant, in southeastern Wisconsin.

Improperly discarded fireworks to blame for downtown Madison fire

New equipment coming to South Shore Fire Department

New life-saving equipment is coming to the South Shore Fire Department. The Fire Department is planning to purchase 10 new defibrillators, including heart monitors and six AutoPulse units, which are automated CPR devices. South Shore Fire Chief Rob Stedman made presentations to the villages of Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant about the need for these devices.

Police, fire crews rescue pet macaw from tree in Green Bay

A Green Bay man is thankful after police and fire crews came to the rescue of his pet. Wednesday afternoon, the man's macaw escaped from his home and flew to the top of a tree. The Green Bay Metro Fire Department brought in their ladder truck and allowed the bird owner to go up with one of the firefighters.

Unattended cooking cause of July 4th Fond du Lac house fire

VIDEO: Unattended cooking was determined to be the cause of a house fire Wednesday in Fond du Lac. Just before 6 p.m., Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to the 700 block of Ellis Street for reports of smoke in a house, with no current fire, as well as a kitchen stove left on, according to a press release from Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue.
