Wausau Fire Department in early talks about new station

VIDEO: The Wausau Fire Department is asking the city’s finance committee to approve the purchase of an abandoned lot at 811 and 815 Grand Avenue in order to potentially build a new central station. The current station was built in 1962. At one time, it was deemed the most modern in the country. But that’s simply not the case anymore.

Fire at Green Bay apartment building displaces 4

VIDEO: A Tuesday morning fire at an apartment building in Green Bay has displaced four residents and has caused roughly $30,000 in estimated damages. According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, crews were called to the 1500 block of Main Street around 11 a.m. on August 22 for reports of smoke in an upstairs apartment.

Brookfield commercial building fire extinguished; firefighter suffers minor injury

Firefighters on Tuesday night, Aug. 22 responded to the scene of a commercial building fire near 124th and Townsend in Brookfield. Around 7:40 p.m. the Waukesha County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting smoke in the building. Occupants inside the building were alerted to the fire and exited prior to the fire department’s arrival.

Madison home damaged by fire soon after owners purchased it

A newly bought home on Madison's north side was significantly damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon, according to the Madison Fire Department. Brown County officials look at solutions for home hit by vehicles three times

VIDEO: A committee in Brown County will look a possible safety measures for a home in the Village of Suamico that’s been hit by cars three different times in the past seven years. The most recent crash into Cornelius Vannieuwenhoven’s home was earlier this year, when Suamico first responders say an SUV went off the road and struck the home on the 1400 block of Riverside Drive just before midnight on March 15.

Three injured while fighting food truck fire in Sheboygan

Three people were injured while trying to extinguish a food truck fire Monday, the Sheboygan Fire Department said. Firefighters called it a gas explosion. Just before 6 p.m. Monday, Sheboygan County Dispatch Center received a report of a fire in a food truck in the 2100 block of North 3rd Street in Sheboygan.

Crews quickly extinguish Marshfield fire

PHOTOS: Fire crews were called Aug. 20 to a building in Marshfield’s downtown, housing three ground-level businesses and five second-story apartments. A general fire alarm coming from 105 E. Third Street alerted the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department at 9:15 a.m., according to Deputy Chief Troy Weiland.

Madison Firefighter Robert Henry Fleming passes away

Robert Henry Fleming, 88, of Green Bay, Mercer and Madison Wis., passed away Aug. 17, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born Sept. 14, 1934, to Edward and Marscleite (Williams) Fleming of Highland. Later the family moved to create a lively family home of 11 children on S. Henry St. in downtown Madison.

Tomah Area Ambulance Services marks anniversary by showing off new facility

Drought fuels uptick in wildfires across Wisconsin, majority started by humans

Former Crooked Lake fire chief honored for 25 years of service

VIDEO: A former firefighter in Crooked Lake was honored Tuesday with a parade of fire trucks and ambulances. Jackson Kuske is a hospice patient. Rockwell Automation fire escape collapses in Milwaukee; 2 hurt

VIDEO: A fire escape collapsed at Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Aug. 16 – and two workers were hurt as a result. Two pets perish in Fond du Lac residential fire, occupants without a home

Two pets are dead after a residential fire on the 100 block of West Scott Street in the City of Fond du Lac. According to a release, crews from the Fond du Lac Fire & Rescue were sent to the residence shortly after 6:45 p.m. for a report of a fire in a two-story single-family home. Upon arrival, firefighters found fire showing from a first-floor window and heavy smoke emitting from the entire building.

Merrill Fire Chief Honored After 80 Years of Waiting

Wausau police and fire departments give back during Community Thank You Cookout

Milwaukee Fire Department create 'flex farms' to address community need

Milwaukee firefighters have found another way to help the community, using their green thumbs to grow fresh food year round. It's part of a pilot program called "Gardens for First Responders," but fire crews aren't the only ones getting their hands in the soil. One taken to hospital after apartment fire in Whitewater

VIDEO: An apartment fire in Whitewater sent one person to the hospital. The fire, at 137 W Center St., began around 2:20 p.m. Saturday. It began on the roof of the building and was contained there, Whitewater Fire Department explained. A witness said he was walking his dog when the fire broke out. “Next thing you know, it’s truck after truck after truck, ambulance safety team and response team, EMS, all that left and right, and I mean just filled the surrounding blocks,” Matthew Richardson said.

Fond du Lac Restaurant Damaged By Fire

A local Fond du Lac restaurant sustained damage in a fire Friday, August 11, 2023. About 6:25 PM, the Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department was dispatched to Boda’s Restaurant at 277 south Pioneer Road for a report of smoke alarms going off and smoke in the basement. Upon arrival fire crews encountered light smoke and found there had been a fire located in the mechanical room in the basement.
