Emergency radio broadcasts from a massive fire at an apartment complex in Bayside early Saturday capture dramatic dialogue from firefighters who enter the building and rescue residents as the fire grows in intensity and races through the building. The first fire units on the scene report that there are at least three apartments on fire and that firefighters are stretching hose lines as they prepare to fight the fire.

Man dies after vehicle was found in Chippewa River

A man has died after he was found in a vehicle in the Chippewa River on Sunday morning in Chippewa Falls. The male was pronounced dead after he was transported to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, according to information from the Chippewa Falls Fire and Emergency Services Department. Battalion Chief Trevor Weiland said the male was pronounced dead after lifesaving procedures at the hospital.

At least 20 rescued from balconies when massive fire tears through Bayside apartment complex

A massive fire tore through the While Oaks apartment complex in Bayside on Saturday, March 30. Dozens of people are without a home as firefighters work to determine a cause. Residents are left wondering when and if they'll be able to get back inside. "We saw it spreading like wildfire," said Veena Attivilli, resident.

Eau Claire Fire Department holds multi-company extrication training

March 28 was the final day of the Eau Claire Fire and Rescue's annual multi-company extrication training program. The training occurred at the Chippewa Valley Technical College's campus on Eau Claire's west side. The focus was on stabilizing vehicles before extrication could begin. Officials say these sessions are done as safe and as realistic as possible to give Firefighters the skills they need in the event of similar emergency incidents.

Fire burns through building at former Ethan Allen School in Delafield

A Wednesday afternoon blaze at the former Ethan Allen School property leveled an approximately 100-by-50-foot steel maintenance building. The town of Delafield Fire Department and the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fire at W323 S1050 Boy School Road at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday.

Door County area fire departments battle two overnight fires

Multiple Door County area fire departments were stretched thin Wednesday night as they battled two separate fires. About 6:20 p.m. the Egg Harbor Fire Department was called to Schartner's Farm Market, just off of State 42, for a storage barn that was engulfed in flames. Egg Harbor Fire Chief Steve Schopf said the barn is a total loss, and a nearby home also suffered siding damage from the heat of the fire.

Stretch of road closed as firefighters fight fire in Rock County

A Rock County home is a total loss after a garage fire spread to an entire house Wednesday, according to officials with the Clinton Fire Department. Officials said the homeowners noticed the fire in the garage and immediately went to rescue two baby goats inside. The family was able to rescue their goats, but the hay and straw burst into flames, and they had to call 911.

Man accused of killing Lake Mills firefighter in car crash heads to trial

The man accused of killing a Lake Mills Fire Department captain is heading to trial, according to court records. Samuel Cremers is accused of killing fire Capt. Christopher Truman. Truman had stopped on the side of the Beltline Monday night to help another driver. Cremers hit Truman after Truman exited the vehicle.

Kronenwetter's pick for fire chief has over 2 decades of fire service experience

Village officials made their choice Monday on whom they want as their new fire chief. Kristopher Grod, 42, will succeed Roger James as the head of the village's fire department. James retired from the Kronenwetter Fire Department on Dec. 31. Grod has an "extensive background and knowledge" of the fire service, Kronenwetter Police and Fire Commission Chairman Chad Billeb said in a statement.

Fire Causes Damage to Barn in Outagamie County

A fire has caused a barn to engulf in flames in the Town of Center in Outagamie County. The fire started shortly after 8:00 PM on the Northeast Corner of Mayflower and Autumn Hills Parkway. The video was sent in by viewer Jim Dreifuerst who said firefighters are still on scene and that the flames went down, but crews are still combatting it.

Merrill firefighters union denied Lead Paramedic, Inspector positions

Firefighters in Merrill have lost another appeal in their attempt to get two new positions created on their pay scale. Merrill Firefighters Local 847 had a request for the creation of "Lead Paramedic" and "Lead Inspector" denied by the city's Personnel and Finance Committee on Tuesday, following input from both Fire Chief Josh Klug and representatives from the union and an hour-long closed session discussion.

Fire at Weyauwega-Fremont Middle School won't cancel classes

Classes will go on as scheduled Tuesday at Weyauwega-Fremont Middle School despite a fire reported after school on Monday. The Weyauwega Fire Department responded to an alarm just before 5 p.m. The school district says students and staff inside the school buildings were evacuated. Cross Plains investigators look for cause of tavern kitchen fire

Firefighters are investigating what caused a fire in the kitchen of Coach's Club in Cross Plains early Tuesday morning. A Dane County dispatcher told News 3 Now the initial call came in at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting a fire at the building located at 1200 Main Street. While sprinklers were able to knock down the fire, crews were on scene overnight, closing Main Street lanes for several hours.

Marshfield fire damages detached garage, no injuries

The Marshfield Fire Department responded to a call about a structure fire around 1 p.m. on Sunday. The fire damaged a detached garage. It was put out shortly after firefighters arrived on scene. It happened at a home on S. Palmetto Street in Marshfield. There are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation according to Relief Lieutenant Joe Vanden Elzen of the Marshfield Fire Department.

Controlled fire: South Area firefighters get real experience training in Weston

Newly hired firefighters with the South Area Fire and Emergency Response District (SAFER) were able to practice putting out a controlled structure fire Saturday morning. Thanks to the D.C. Video shows Shawano firefighter rescuing dog from icy water

A firefighter from the Shawano Area Fire Department rescued a dog that had fallen through the ice Friday afternoon. The rescue happened about 1 p.m. in the Shawano Channel in the 400 block of West First Street, Fire Chief Shawn Borlace said. The channel connects the Wolf River to Shawano Lake. The rescue was captured on video and posted to the Facebook page Distinct Aerial Shotz.
