A Wisconsin State Patrol officer was killed early Tuesday near Wisconsin Dells when his patrol car crashed on Interstate 90/94 near mile marker 89. The trooper was identified late Tuesday morning as Anthony J. Borostowski of Tomah. Three people were rescued Friday morning from a fire in a duplex in La Crosse.
The La Crosse Fire Department received a call at 7:07 a.m. about a fire at 1714 Ferry St.

The Black River Falls Fire Department received a new fire truck Thursday.
According to Fire Chief Steve Schreiber the new truck will replace the 1993 freightliner. He says it cost $489,000 and the department was able to raise $198,000 through fundraisers and grants.
