The Madison Fire Department says one person was found dead when firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Madison’s west side.
Just after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, fire crews responded to a fire alarm at Summit Hill Apartments on Mckenna Boulevard. The apartment building has 41 units.

A Fredonia DPW worker was flown to the hospital with "crush-related injuries" after being rescued from a trench in the village Wednesday, Aug. 25.
The man was identified by the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office as Brandon Heinen, 24, of Port Washington. The body found inside a truck belonging to the Arcadia-Glencoe fire chief has been identified as Jeff Halvorsen.
