Partial building collapse in Milwaukee

Milwaukee fire crews were at the scene of a partial building collapse Friday night in the area of North 32nd Street and West Villard Avenue on the city's northwest side. Fire department officials told WISN 12 News the building is vacant and there were no injuries. We Energies was at the scene to make sure utilities are off.

Fire causes $100,000 in damage to 4 garages, 2 homes in Racine, cause under investigation

Firefighters on Thursday night, June 18 responded to the scene of a garage fire on Harmony Drive near Charles Street in Racine. The call came in around 10 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved two-car garage fire. The fire burned the roof off the garage, fully consumed two cars that were inside, caught neighboring homes on fire, and melted vinyl siding on three nearby garages.

Tragedy strikes as young Fond du Lac family loses home to a fire

Man dies after being pulled from Fond du Lac River

Fond du Lac police say a man who was pulled from the Fond du Lac River after an hour-long search has died. Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue tells Action 2 News the 37-year-old man was fishing when he saw friends on the other side of the river. He jumped in the water and swam across, and sat talking with the friends for 30 or 40 minutes before going back into the river.

Winnebago County: Nursing home residents evacuated for fire in Fox Crossing

A fire burned through the roof of a nursing home in Fox Crossing Thursday afternoon, forcing the evacuation of residents. Residents were safely evacuated to other facilities, including local hospitals. Fox Crossing's fire chief says they were able to act quickly. "All the residents inside were evacuated.

Fond du Lac Fire Officials Demonstrate Fireworks Danger

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue put on a fireworks show Wednesday morning...kind of. They put on a safety demonstration warning about the potential dangers of consumer fireworks. Fourth of July is not going to be the same this year, and that’s what worries Fond du Lac firefighters. “The thought is that they’re gonna go out on their own to secure fireworks from these consumer fireworks stands and light them off, and light them off in unsafe areas, or areas that may not be equipped to handle that,” said Garth Schumacher, division chief of fire prevention at Fond du Lac Fire Rescue.

New Clinton fire chief looks to improve training, services

Clinton Fire Chief Mark Ruosch has been in fire service for nearly 30 year and plans to make changes at the department to improve services and training opportunities. Rousch was named chief on March 17 by the Clinton Fire Protection District Board after nine candidates were considered for the position in December of 2019.

Suamico Fire Department cools down community with world's largest sprinkler

The Suamico Fire Department is cooling the community down on this hot day with the world’s largest sprinkler. On Tuesday firefighters set up the world’s largest sprinkler in Idlewild Park in Suamico to help the residents cool down, give new recruits some training, and get to know the community. Milwaukee firefighters union sells t-shirts in memory of Firefighter Darrin Jones

The Milwaukee Professional Firefighters Association is doing what it can to honor the memory of Firefighter Darrin Jones, who passed away in his sleep on Feb. 1. Local 215 is now selling t-shirts on the union’s website. The proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be used to send Jones’ family, as well as the family of another fallen firefighter, O’Dell Minor, to The Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Colorado Springs in 2021 — to honor their memory.

Possible burglary turns into shootout, fire at Jefferson County house

An investigation has been opened into a fire at a home near Fort Atkinson Tuesday night. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call just before 6 p.m. about a possible burglary at a house on County Highway A near Highway 106 in the town of Sumner. When a deputy got to the scene, they said shots were fired from the home.

Body found in burning Milwaukee garage

A man's body was found in a burning garage Tuesday afternoon in Milwaukee. Firefighters called to the scene of the blaze in the 300 block of East Center Street found the body of a 35-year-old man inside a garage, according to Milwaukee police. Follow Up: 16 apartment units displaced by box alarm fire in Westport

More than 20 people have been displaced by a fire at an apartment complex at 5323 Westport Road. According to Dane County Dispatch, the call came in at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday. A representative with the Waunakee Fire Department said based off of the information in the initial call, before firefighters even arrived on scene they called a box alarm.

4 adults, 3 children in care of Red Cross after fire claims Howard home

Four adults, three children, and a dog are all safe after a fire claimed their Howard home Monday evening. According to the Village of Howard Fire Department, crews from fire departments across the Green Bay arrived at a home in the 2000 block of Shawano Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Firefighters say they found the attached garage on fire, the roof collapsed, and the fire burning across the roof of the home.

Fond du Lac County barn total loss following fire

A Fond du Lac County barn is a total loss following a Monday afternoon fire. The Sheriff’s Office and Alto Fire Department were dispatched to a residence on HWY 49 shortly after 1:20 p.m. for a fully engulfed barn fire. Firefighters battle blaze at town of Westport multi-unit complex

Emergency crews are responding to a report of a fire at an apartment complex in the town of Westport. Firefighters were called about 7:50 a.m. to the complex in the 5300 block of Westport Road according to Dane County dispatch. A mutual aid call has been send for help from additional departments. Quick-thinking 8-year-old girl warns residents of Kenosha apartment fire

Residents of a Kenosha apartment building are crediting 8-year-old Addilyn Holland with helping them safely escape a fire. The fire broke out at Windsor Apartments, 3825 89th Street, at about 10:14 p.m. Friday. The fire destroyed two apartments in the eight-unit building and caused smoke damage to others, displacing everyone who lives there.

Milwaukee house fire near 24th and Keefe injures firefighter

Fire officials were called to a report of a house fire near N. 24th Street and W. Keefe Avenue early Saturday morning, June 13.
