University football players train like a firefighter with one North Carolina fire department

First responders in Whittier rushed to a fire at the city’s fuel dock just before noon on Tuesday. VIDEO: Fire damages several homes in Phoenix neighborhood

Fire crews have gained control of a 4-alarm fire that ignited in a neighborhood near 40th Street and McDowell Road Friday afternoon. The Phoenix Fire Department said the fire started as a backyard palm tree fire that quickly spread into dense vegetation and surrounding homes. The hot embers from the fire became airborne and landed on nearby homes, alleyways and vegetation.

VIDEO: Firefighting robot helps quell fire that damaged Los Angeles business

Flames towered above a South Los Angeles store early Saturday when a fire burned for more than an hour at the two-story structure. Firefighters were called at about 1:30 a.m. to the 4100 block of S. Broadway and 41st streets. Heavy smoke was billowing through the roof of the Best Bargain store and there were signs of possible structural collapse, forcing firefighters to battle the fire from the outside.

How a Missouri zoo uses old fire hoses as furniture for animals

Engine 64 returns to Maryland county as ambassador for fire service

PHOTOS: The anniversary of American independence has added significance this year for the Friends of Engine 64 Inc., a nonprofit that now owns the Hahn pumper that Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company put in service on July 4, 1983. What is known as Six-Four served Chestertown until 2010, when it was donated to a fire company in Brierfield for what would be a decade of added service for several communities in rural Alabama.

Florida beach now deadliest in US this year after 3 more drownings

Panama City Beach in Florida is now the deadliest in the U.S. so far in 2023 after three more deaths this past weekend. Despite double red flag warnings, which mean no swimming is allowed in the Gulf, heavy rip currents led to the three drownings and dozens of rescues. National Weather Service statistics show that Panama City has had seven rip current-related deaths in the past nine days, more surf zone fatalities than any other beach in the U.

‘We have a fire!’: 911 calls from massive North Carolina construction site fire released

VIDEOS: New 911 calls are painting a dire picture in the moments leading up to the massive fire in SouthPark last month. It happened at a construction site not far from Charlotte’s SouthPark Mall. Two construction workers died in the fire. That massive blaze was considered a five-alarm fire, meaning hundreds of firefighters were called to the scene.
