Film Honoring America's Volunteer Firefighters Recently Screened In Illinois

"Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat." That's a new film that honors volunteer firefighters. It premiered over the weekend at Deere and Company world headquarters in Moline. The goal is to encourage more people to volunteer. Jacob Smith is a "product dissolve specialist" at John Deere in Silvis. He also volunteers for the Hillsdale and Coal Valley fire departments.

VIDEO: Firefighters respond to pallet factory fire in Wisconsin

On May 21, 2023 at approximately 7:23 p.m. the Washington County Communications Center began taking 911 calls reporting smoke and flame coming from Oak Creek Wood Products, which is located alongside I-41 south of Slinger in the Town of Polk. The first responding Deputy observed dark smoke coming from the area while still en route.

Bill to reimburse Alabama EMTs & paramedics for schooling moves forward at statehouse

Female Denver firefighters change the way tradition operates in their field, reach 2.5 million views on TikTok

One worker has died after firefighters battled a massive, five-alarm blaze that broke out Thursday morning at a construction site in Charlotte, North Carolina. The deceased worker was identified as Demonte Smith. His father confirmed his death. A second worker remains missing. The fire captain told CBS News that on Thursday night, structural engineers deemed it unsafe for heavy machinery to operate overnight, so search and rescue efforts were paused until morning.

A Mercer County neighborhood was evacuated Thursday morning after a warehouse fire. The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at the warehouse on Whitehead Road.
