A creative holiday-themed video by the Red Wing Fire Department has officially gone viral. As of Monday, December 18, the Facebook video has been seen more than 2.1 million times.

VIDEOS: Fire damages apartment building under construction in Colorado

Crews from Aurora Fire Rescue and surrounding agencies responded to a two-alarm fire at a construction site in Aurora on Saturday. Smoke from the fire that was burning at an apartment construction site near E. Colfax Avenue and Peoria Street could be seen for several miles. The Link Apartments Fitz, developed by Grubb Properties, is severely damaged.

Delaware bill would increase first responder pensions

A new legislative proposal promises to provide a significant boost in pension contributions for active first responders throughout Delaware. House Bill 266, officially introduced Friday, December 15th, aims to expand the criteria for compensation taken into account when calculating pensions for retired members of the County and Municipal Police and Firefighter Pension Plan.

EMS company in Ohio recruits Australian trainees to fill need

While businesses across every industry are in dire need of workers, the paramedic workforce is especially thin right now. Spirit EMS in Greenville has struggled due to the shortage but got creative with finding a solution. That sent the company to another continent to find the employees it needs. After partnering with an EMS recruiting firm, three Aussies are now Greenville residents, moving around the world to help address the emergency workforce shortage.

Santa's sleigh from ‘Elf' arrives in New York City for fan photos

City in Illinois gets a purple fire engine

PHOTOS: The Evanston Fire Department today unveiled a new fire engine with a distinctive Northwestern University-inspired purple and white color scheme. The university agreed two years ago to provide $800,000 to fund the purchase of the new engine. And Fire Chief Paul Polep says he started work shortly after that — meeting with firefighters at Fire Station #3 on Central Street where the new engine is housed — to come up with the new design concept for the engine — the latest of several fire and ambulance vehicles donated to the city by the university.

Connecticut fire department welcomes its first female firefighter in 116 years

Two firefighters were injured while battling flames that engulfed a yacht club that has been a local landmark in Marina del Rey for decades.
