40 hours, 20 fire departments in South Carolina and 2.5 millions gallons of water later …

After about 40 hours of pumping an estimated 2.5 million gallons of water, firefighters waging a battle against a large warehouse fire on Champion Ferry Road were finally able to declare the fire under control at 7:15 p.m. Friday. But even after the fire was deemed out, it was expected there would be some puffs of smoke worth monitoring and plenty of work remained.

Oregon firefighters honored 25 years after deadly Storm King Mountain fire in Colorado

More than 100 people gathered in western Colorado to honor 14 firefighters killed 25 years ago on Storm King Mountain. VIDEO: Fireworks explode over South Carolina store after fire ignites them

Firefighters had to dodge exploding fireworks Thursday morning when a storage facility caught fire in South Carolina It happened around 6 a.m. in Fort Mill, South Carolina, just off Interstate 77. New Iowa Law Helps Families of Fallen Officers, Firefighters

A new Iowa law will set aside part of the state's lottery revenues to help the families of firefighters and law enforcement officers keep insurance after their deaths. West Virginia firefighter dies in ATV accident

The Logan community is mourning the loss of one of its firefighters following a tragic accident. According to City of Logan Fire Chief Scott Beckett, the department responded to an ATV crash on W.Va. 44 near the Honda Logan Motorcycle Sales in Wilkinson at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Death of Luis Alvarez hits home for Boston 9/11 responders who push for extension of 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund

Pennsylvania’s new fireworks law frustrates firefighters, police, residents alike

A Pennsylvania law passed in 2017 that finally allowed residents to buy aerial fireworks has increased both the number of booms and the corresponding noise complaints, sparking frustration among Lehigh Valley firefighters, police officers and residents. Allentown police officials said prior to the 2017 law, they would often respond to complaints by seizing aerial fireworks.
