Never Forgotten Games honor fallen first responders from Northern California

The Never Forgotten Games return to Redding for their third Cross Fit competition. The chairman of the Never Forgotten Games, Darren Hull, made sure the event went on this year after canceling last year due to COVID-19. The event honors the lives of five first responders from Northern California who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Kentucky firefighters battle large flames at commercial warehouse; hazmat called in

VIDEO: Massive flames burned through the roof of a commercial warehouse Thursday night in west Louisville, completely destroying the building that required a large presence of firefighters and first responders. The fire was initially reported just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of Del Park Terrace in the Russell neighborhood.

Firefighter adopts emotional support pig for New York firehouse

Move over Dalmatians, a little baby pig is taking the spotlight at a firehouse in Brooklyn. Penny the fire pig is three months old and was adopted by FDNY firefighter Darren Harris. Penny spends much of her time hanging with her dad and the other firefighters at Engine 239 in Park Slope. She’s become somewhat of a local celebrity, as many people stop by to snap pictures with the cutie and feed her snacks.

Washington firefighters filing vaccine exemptions wonder if they’ll be pulled from the frontlines

Firefighters statewide have threatened to quit instead of being vaccinated, but, for some local firefighters – it’s more complicated than that. Louisiana first responders tap new technology to help with flooding

New Evidence That The Florida Condo That Collapsed Had Extensive Corrosion

7 firefighters hurt battling multi-alarm house fire in New Jersey

A fifth alarm that burned through two Jersey City homes brought down a live power line on firefighters, injuring seven of them. The fire broke out between the Irving Street homes just before 3 a.m. this morning and quickly spread. As firefighters arrived, an energized power line came down on their fire truck, shocking at least four firefighters and a captain.

At least 5 aircrafts have landed on freeways in California since 2013

VIDEO/PHOTOS: At least five planes have made emergency landings on San Diego-area freeways in recent years, resulting in one death, multiple injuries and various amounts of damage. The latest came Tuesday when a single-engine Piper PA-32 landed shortly after noon on Interstate 5 east of the Del Mar Fairgrounds, hitting a Kia sedan and losing part of a wing after it became lodged in the back of an Audi SUV.

'Come home and stay home': Firefighters in Tennessee plead with City Council for higher pay

A large crowd of firefighters took the podium at City Council on Tuesday, pleading for higher pay. Mayor Kelly's budget is currently under review, and one measure focuses on a 24% salary increase for fire cadets. Right now, the starting salary is $32,524 . The increase would bump it up to $40,330. Man captures history and documents ‘bravery’ of heroes in Wisconsin warehouse fire

Flying embers send person to hospital, damage multiple homes in Pennsylvania mansion blaze

VIDEO/PHOTOS: At least one person was hospitalized, and multiple properties were damaged as a mansion went up in flames in Upper Saint Clair Monday morning. A 20-year tradition: Why these Florida firefighters wear stickers on their helmets

PHOTOS: Every fire department has its own customs and traditions that have been carried on through the years. Some have different colored badges to distinguish officers or different colored turnout gear, but DeFuniak Springs firefighters wear theirs on their helmets. Stickers in the shape of an extrication tool known as the “jaws of life” can be spotted plastered around the black, empty spaces of their helmets.

Fire department tragedy could lead to change in Kentucky law

A Kentucky lawmaker plans to file a bill that would help the families of first responders who died from COVID-19. Rep. Thomas Huff, a Republican from Shepherdsville, said his proposal is a result of the twin tragedy that occurred at the Zoneton Fire Department. Chief Rob Orkies died in December 2020 after a battle with both cancer and COVID-19.
