Budget crisis forcing 9/11 Museum in New York to scale back plans for 20th anniversary

The 9/11 Museum is dropping plans for special exhibitions to mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks this fall, because of a massive budget crisis. "I see the memorial as a cemetery. The names on those brass plates are akin to a headstone. Where the name appears, sorry, is where they fell.

Major fire destroys multiple South Carolina businesses

Arizona fire robot to assist with hazmat calls

The Peoria Fire-Medical Department has purchased a hazmat robot to avoid tragedies like the 2019 explosion at the APS McMicken energy storage facility that injured four Peoria firefighters. The first of its kind in the United States, the robot was purchased with grant funds from the Tohono O’odham Nation.

General Motors Warns Some Bolt Owners To Park Outdoors Due To Fire Risk

General Motors is telling owners of some older Chevrolet Bolts to park them outdoors and not to charge them overnight because two of the electric cars caught fire after recall repairs were made. The company said Wednesday that the request covers 2017 through 2019 Bolts that were part of a group that was recalled earlier due to fires in the batteries.

FDNY Boxing Club Getting Ready For First Fight Night Since Pandemic Began

The FDNY‘s boxing club is getting ready for its first Fight Night since the start of the pandemic. FDNY firefighter Niko Negron is taking on Brooklyn EMT Javier Rosario in an old-fashioned grudge match. “True grudge matches, guys that maybe didn’t get along on the job, maybe had a little score to settle and have decided to settle it like gentlemen in the ring,” said Bobby McGuire, president of the FDNY Boxing Club.

1 dead after plane crashes into California home, sparks brush fire

VIDEO: At least one person is dead after a twin-engine plane crashed into a home near the Monterey Regional Airport Tuesday morning. According to KION-TV, officials confirmed crews found one deceased individual still inside the plane. Fire officials say the home is located on Monterra Ranch road, near Highway 68 and about 1 mile from the airport.

Twitter User Finds Photo of Maryland Firefighter for Memorial 60+ Years After His Death

Efforts underway to restore historic Iowa fire station

VIDEO: A defunct fire station could soon be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco style Engine House 2 on South Federal Avenue was completed in 1939, at a cost of $34,520, part of which was funded through a Public Works Administration grant. Upon completion until it was closed in 1973, the fire house provided round the clock service to the then rapidly expanding area south of Downtown.

Chicago firefighter Chris King will debut in Funny Car at Mile-High Nationals

Chicago firefighter Chris King will make his professional debut July 16-18 at the Dodge//SRT Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Denver. Virginia fire department honors 71st anniversary of state’s first Black career firefighters

Pennsylvania fire department demands answers after station floods again

Three feet of water was in the basement of the Monongahela Fire Department after Thursday’s rainstorm. Images posted to the fire department’s Facebook page showed how bad the flooding was. Crews are now in clean-up mode and searching for answers. On Friday, restoration crews tore down drywall and pulled out soaked insulation.
